I just ran across this really cool example of an marketing campaign using agmented reality. The unique part is that the graphic used to trigger the model wasn’t printed out. In the past, most of the examples required the uses to print it on paper and hold it in front of the webcam. This example proves that it’s possible to trigger AR without printed material through a webcam.

  1. Very interesting. I saw something similar where there seemed to be a 3-d animation of a cartoon character walking on a treadmill across the iPhone screen (which was held horizontal like the character was walking across the screen). Turned out to be a hoax. There was no app, just a heavily edited “demo.” I wonder….
